QHow do I book a room?

You can use the official website of the Granvista Hotel & Resort Group to book your stay. The room rates offered on the official website are discounted an additional 10% over the rates offered on other booking websites for the same package. See the following page for more information.

QIs there a fee for cancelling a reservation?
A

There is a fee for cancelling a reservation less than 7 days before your arrival date. The following cancellation fees apply.
◆Do not show up: 100%
◆Day of arrival: 100%
◆24 hours before arrival date: 80%
◆72 hours before arrival date: 50%
◆7 days before arrival date: 20%
*For group reservations (5+ rooms), the dates cancellation fees are applied are different from the above.

Payment

QCan I pay by credit card?

JCB, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, UC, DC, Nicos, Diners Club and UFJ credit cards are accepted. *Accepted credit cards may vary when using online credit card payment.

Guest rooms

QWhat are the basic types of guest rooms?

We offer Single, Double, Twin, Hollywood Twin, Connecting, Hollywood Connecting, Intergate Room, Deluxe Twin, Universal, and Junior Suite guest rooms. See here for more information.

QWhat amenities are in guest rooms?
A

Face, hand and bath towels, toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, body soap, hand and face soap, loungewear, washable slippers, a hair dryer, razor, and hair brush are provided in guest rooms.

QIs there laundry service?
A

Coin-operated washers and dryers are located in the 1st floor.

QWhat items are available to borrow at the hotel?
A

Rental equipment includes iron and ironing board, trouser press, crib (charged), bed guard, blanket, extension cord, converter/multi-adapter, opener, desk lamp, sewing set, umbrella, thermometer, nail clipper, ice pillow or cooling sheet. , DVD player, children’s nightwear, LL size nightwear, infant toilet seat, tableware & silverware, diaper pot, diaper dryer, wheelchair are available free of charge. Please contact the front desk when you need it. There is a limited number, so it is possible to make a reservation in advance.

QAre there women-only guest rooms?

We do not offer women-only guest rooms. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

QCan I open the windows of my room?
A

We can not open our room windows. In addition, windows are considered to be frosted glass because they are adjacent to nearby residences. We thank our guests for your understanding.

Yes. All guest rooms have complimentary wireless (Wi-Fi) Internet access as well as a LAN cable for wired LAN Internet access.

Lodging

QWhat times are check-in and check-out?
A

Check-in time is 3:00 p.m., and check-out time is 11:00 a.m. These times may vary with special offers and packages. Please confirm the check-in and check-out times when booking your stay.

QWhat should I do if I forget something in my room?
A

Please telephone the hotel directly (075-255-2221). We will deliver any forgotten items by COD.

QCan I keep my bags at the hotel before check-in or after check-out?
A

Yes, we offer a luggage storage service. Please request this service at the front desk.

QCan I extend my check-out time?
A

Additional charges apply. Depending on the reservation status on the day, we may not be able to accept it. Please contact the front desk.

QDoes the hotel have a curfew?
A

There is no curfew, but the front doors are locked between the hours of 1:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. Please use the interphone if you are checking in during these hours. Checked-in hotel guests can use their card key to enter the hotel.

QIs there room service?

Room service is not available. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

QWhat is the parking garage fee for guests?
A

The hotel does not have a parking garage. If you are arriving by car, we will provide information about parking nearby. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

QWhat about staying with small children?
A

Children may sleep in the parent’s bed in Twin and Double guest rooms. Limited numbers of bed guards (complimentary) and baby cots (JPY2,420 service fee, tax not incl.) are available. Please reserve a bed guard or baby cot at your earliest convenience. Toothbrushes and other children’s amenities for young guests are also available upon request at the front desk.

QHow much does a room upgrade cost?
A

Fees vary depending on your package and type of room. Please ask about upgrades at the front desk.

QIs it okay to check in late?
A

There is no problem if you arrive later than expected. If you will be more than 24 hours late, however, please contact the hotel in advance (075-255-2221).

Yes. There is a JPY2,000 service fee (tax not incl.) per night. Limited numbers are available, so please inquire at the hotel in advance if you wish to use a baby cot. Baby cots can only be placed in Twin type guest rooms.

QHow do I get to the hotel from the airport (and vice versa)?

・Take the Airport Limousine Bus to Kyoto Station (Hachijo-guchi), and then take the Karasuma Line of Kyoto Municipal Subway from Kyoto Station to Shijo Station (approx. 90 min. from the airport to the hotel)

QWhat is the closest highway exit to the hotel?

From the Meishin Expressway, take the Kyoto Minami Interchange (IC), follow National Route 1, turn right at Toji Temple in Kyoto and head toward Shijo Karasuma.

Tourist information

QWhat places near the hotel do you recommend visiting?
A

Nishiki Market (“Kyoto’s kitchen”), Nijo Castle (a UNESCO World Heritage site), and Yasaka Shrine and Kiyomizu Temple are some of the popular tourist destinations. Please ask front desk staff for more information.

QIs there convenient transportation by the hotel to sightseeing spots? How long does it take to get there?

Yes. A 24-hour delivery service is available at the front desk on the 1st floor. Shipping materials and delivery forms are also available. Please ask at the front desk if you need assistance.

The hotel does not sell stamps, but they are available for purchase at nearby post offices and convenience stores.

QAre there gift certificates I can use for staying at the hotel?
