What is a Goshuincho?
A Goshuincho is a book used to collect Goshuin, which are stamps given as proof of visit to temples and shrines. Its various sizes and designs are making it popular in recent years.
There are two main types of Goshuincho: “Watoji” and “Jabara.”
“Watoji” is a type of binding washi paper with thread, while Jabara is folding washi paper in accordion-style (upward and downward).
About the Goshuincho Retailer “Kyodaisha”
URL:https://kyodaisha.stores.jp
Kyodai-sha sells handmade Goshuincho created by bookbinding artisans from the downtown area of Tokyo.
With the concept of “A vibrant Goshuincho that makes you want to go out just by having it”, they handles every part of the production process in their own workshop, including selecting the cover, folding, cutting, and gluing. The custom-made white washi paper, “Torinokogami,” is used for its superior quality—there is no bleed-through, and it dries quickly, making it ideal for Goshuincho.
